The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers,

guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the

International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of

disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

The American Red Cross – Northeast Mississippi Chapter was chartered

in 1917 as part of the American National Red Cross. The American Red

Cross of Northeast Mississippi has proudly served our community for 90

years.

The American Red Cross – Northeast Mississippi Chapter has been

working closely with the residents of Lee, Prentiss, Itawamba, Pontotoc and

Tishomingo Counties to full our mission. Today, we continue to help our

community every day by responding to local disasters such as single-family

fires, providing health & safety education, providing emergency military

communications and empowering our community to respond to disasters.

The American Red Cross is a trusted source for emergency preparedness

information.  Actions you should take to be prepared in emergencies are:

1. Get a Kit: Have at least three days of supplies in an easy-to-carry

evacuation kit, with additional supplies on hand. Remember to check

your kit and replace the stock every six months.

2. Make a Plan. Planning ahead will help you have the best

possible response to disaster.

3. Be informed. Know what may happen and how you can help.

4. Have at least one member of your household trained in CPR/First Aid.
